Aberdeen fans receive airport security reminder

Aberdeen fans heading for the Uefa Cup game in Madrid have been issued a reminder on airport security issues. They have been told that sharp items - such as Skean Dhus which fans in kilts may have - must be stored in check-in baggage as they cannot be carried through security and any liquids must be in containers no larger than 100mls.
Aberdeen Airport and Aberdeen Football Club hope the reminders will allow fans a smooth start ahead of Thursday's Atletico Madrid game. More than 1000 supporters are expected to fly from the airport for the Uefa tie.
Airport managing director Kevin Brown said: 'Aberdeen Airport is delighted to be able to support the Dons in Europe - we wish the club and its supporters success. Hundreds of fans will be flying out of the airport on Wednesday and Thursday this week and we want to make sure they get the best possible send off.'
'Being aware of the restrictions on the carriage of items including sharps and liquids will help supporters reduce the time they and their fellow fans spend passing through the security process.'
