Aviation services supplier Go-ahead Group has agreed a £60 million five-year deal to take over British Airways ground handling operations at Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester airports.
BA said when it announced the move in March that it could no longer sustain in-house ground handling at the four airports after selling its BA Connect regional business to Flybe. The company's aviation services division, Aviance UK, will take over the operations on a phased basis, starting on June 12, and to be completed by July 11 Go-ahead said BA staff would have the right to transfer to Aviance UK under TUPE employment regulations.
