Helicopter emergency at Aberdeen Airport

Emergency crews were called to Aberdeen Airport after a helicopter suffered an engine fire. The alarm, involving the Bond helicopter, was raised by ground crew during the start-up procedure yesterday morning. Fire, police and ambulance crews rushed to the airport after the full helicopter emergency was declared.
It was understood a small amount of excess fuel ignited when the Bond helicopter’s engines were starting up. The engine was shut down, and an investigation was launched in to the incident. A spokesman for Bond said no passengers were on board at the time.
