Lufthansa launch Aberdeen – Frankfurt flights
01.11.11
Lufthansa has launched a new service from Aberdeen to Frankfurt. The three times a day service, operated using a modern and fuel-efficient 100-seater Embraer E190 aircraft in a two class configuration, not only offers a direct link to the Germany’s financial centre, but the timings have also been scheduled to offer quick and easy onward connections to Lufthansa’s worldwide network of 14,092 flights a week to 198 destinations in 82 countries.
Aage Duenhaupt, Lufthansa Corporate Communications Director Europe, said: ‘We have introduced this new service as a direct response to business traveller demand. By adding Europe’s oil and energy capital to our route network we are strengthening our position in the world’s key oil and energy markets where we serve almost 80 destinations in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and the Americas.'
'We are also ensuring that business travellers in the north-east of Scotland are able to take advantage of Lufthansa’s reputation for punctuality and efficiency from their local airport. We have timed the service to provide excellent connections to both our European and world-wide network from our Frankfurt hub.'
'Early indications are that around three quarters of passengers using the new service are connecting on to our global network route. In addition to the oil and energy markets the other most popular onward destinations currently include Berlin, Rome, Prague, Munich, Vienna, Warsaw, Beijing, Venice, Paris, Gdansk and Bangkok.'
One way fares from Aberdeen to Frankfurt are from £49 (return £89), inclusive of taxes and charges.
